Foot Care with a Certified Foot Care Nurse
Foot Care Services from a Nurse can directly affect your mobility!
As you age, the health of your feet can determine how active and mobile you are. If you are experiencing any foot issues or pain in your feet, receiving professional Foot Care Service from a Nurse can be crucial to your independence and regular way of life.
At Retire-At-Home Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge, our nurses are trained in Advanced Foot Care. They are recruited for their experience, as well as the personal touch they add to each and every one of their visits. Our Nursing Foot Care Service includes monitoring of the health of your feet each time the nurse visits you; these visits are usually every 4-6 weeks depending on the health of your feet.
Our Foot Care Services are usually provided to you in the comfort of your home, however, we will visit you during a hospital stay or in your retirement home. We often hold Foot Care Clinics in various places around Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge.
Our Foot Care Services with a Nurse include the following:
- A nursing assessment to identify any foot problems and help you understand your risk factors.
- Foot massages to encourage circulation.
- Education on proper foot care (see section below on tips for Maintaining Healthy Feet).
- Nail cutting.
- Corn and callous care.
- Ingrown toenail care.
- Identification of the need for more specialized treatments and referrals to appropriate resources in your community.
